Establish a baseline

Everyone has been struggling with the COVID-19 restrictions and pandemic. To not mention it would be a problem; but likewise is giving it too much attention for timeliness content.

With many people having suffered on the business or personal front, most are finding themselves in a worse state than when this pandemic first began. And depending on who you listen to, we could be in for a long journey ahead yet.

In our attempts to make things more robust to the challenges we face in various areas, one of the first things we need to do is establish a baseline. To do this, we need to make an honest assessment of where we are. This allows us to ensure that the energy we devote to making change is not wasted.

Reviewing your financial circumstances, your health, your work situation, etc. are all part of the process. From there, we can assess what our focus should be, as well as setting S.M.A.R.T. goals to achieve it. If this is done properly, we can take incremental steps to begin improving our situation, one day at a time. We can build a new routine to suit our new circumstances, and we can begin again to make improvements to continue moving forward.
